Transport
By far the most economical and private method of family transport in Bali is Rideshare services Gojek or Grab. A little hack you may want to use is using booking.com to book your ride, but please be aware; booking your transportation this way is most suitable when planning ahead, most especially when travelling longer distances, like to or from the airport. When doing so, you will see your name written on a sign (normally piece of paper!) as soon as you walk outside from the arrivals terminal. Be aware, it can get a bit crazy walking outside when there’s lots of drivers wanting you in their cars.
Another upside with Gojek and Grab is that you can order inexpensive healthy, locally-made, home delivered food if you’re wanting a bit of a snack.
Communication
The number-one platform for digital communication in Bali is via WhatsApp. This way, you can chat and organise whatever you need to without losing your phone number.

Zest Ubud is a unique place, not only because of the delicious vegetarian and vegan food, but because of the energy and beauty of the place. It also has an open space surrounded by temples where beautiful artists offer incredible concerts. While it isn’t purpose-built to cater to families, at only 1.5 kms from Ubud’s town centre, many families frequent Zest for it’s chill atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of inner Ubud.
